The Southern Region was created in 2001 under the direction of Regional Polaris Chris O' Banner. The region was created as a result of the amount of growth Iota experienced in the four state area of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. As one of the newest regions in the fraternity, the Southern Region continues to be a powerful presence in the greek world.
